Big Wigs To Meet On Frans Steyn

The Springbok coaches, selectors and Saru head honchos will meet to discuss the Francois Steyn issue next week. As I mentioned here, The Boks can no longer afford to ignore his talents and Steyn’s stated on numerous occasions that he’s keen to rejoin the side.

Coopers Ban Stays

In a follow up to being cited for a tip tackle in the game where the Wallabies thrashed the Boks in Brisbane, Quade Coopers appeal against his two week ban has failed. This means the Aussie flyhalf will miss both of the next two games for the Wallabies.

Springboks Dealt Bekker Blow

Andries Bekker is out of the Tri Nations and the Springbok end of year tour. In a further blow to the already embattled Springboks Tri Nations Campaign, Andries Bekker will play no further part in the competition or the end of the year tour.

Citing Procedure In The Spotlight

Bok outside centre Jaques Fourie has been handed a four week ban for the tip tackle he was sin binned for against Australia on the weekend. For exactly the same offence, Quade Cooper has been given a two week ban.
